The two friends I'm caring about have been like a second set of good parents to me. 80+ yrs old. Always believed they could trust their doc as it's worked out for them and they're old - tough to argue with them on that. They just couldn't accept the idea that their long term relationships with their docs weren't dependable. They thought they were thinking through it and being careful.
I'm with you on the Darwin award winners though. Those who didn't hesitate but ran to the slaughter then chewed me out for not caring about the children around me can enjoy their world crumbling after mocking me for warning them. The pain must be felt for them. I try to care about humanity... but I also don't loose sleep over commitments to stupidity that I can't do anything about.
I just wish my friends would have had any reason to question their long term doctor...
