Having a severe back problem for the past 40 years I have been on a number of pain meds but was kicked off right before covid. I tried some "natural" pain killers and kratom was the best but tasted like shit.
Then against the advice of everyone I told, I started using aspirin regularly. Four 325mg pills at a time. Success. Sometimes I end up taking 8 but mostly 4.
According to the research, back in the early 1900's it was common for doses of aspirin to exceed 8 to 10 grams (25 to 30 pills). It was these massive doses (which still aren't deadly at this dosage) that caused the excessive stomach issues and bleeding problems. I've been taking the aspirin regularly now for 4 years. No problems.
Google search has a lot of results saying to no longer take low dose aspirin to prevent heart attacks when I was searching for maximum dosage. It seems everywhere we turn they are against aspirin with the primary argument being "it's a blood thinner".
With the entire machine against it I concluded it's because of the overall benefit that it has been denigrated.

It does thin the blood. I see it when we do extractions where people are on aspirin therapy.
