Actually I was in a business round table this morning and the topic came up that so many workers have disappeared - we don't know where they went but they are gone!
We joked that they must be driving for Amazon, but every sector of the country is having the same problem at the same time!
Not a coincidence.
I don't think people are paying enough attention to how many people decided to retire during the pandemic.
The Baby Boomer generation is the largest generation ever. Many of those that were still working during the pandemic decided to retire rather than risk their health via vaccines required by their employers or being exposed to Covid-19 (depending on their personal viewpoints of each).
That lead to many younger people moving on up the work ladder. From what I've seen, the
majority of jobs that are having trouble finding workers are in places like restaurants or those working cash registeres. Those are bottom of the barrel jobs that no one wants because, well, they suck.
I don't think that it's as much an issue as people don't want to work as it is that people have found better jobs due to so many Baby Boomers retiring all at once.
I agree. I’m as anti clotshot as they come, but am very close to at least 6 retirees (outside of my own work), but none with any vax-related complaints.
