For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward [man] is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding [and] eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen [are] temporal; but the things which are not seen [are] eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
Our struggles, our battles, our daily toiling against the forces of this present darkness are naught compared with the marvellous riches and captivating glory to which we are called and in which we will soon partake. What matter our suffering? What matter our failures? What matter any measure of suffering when held against the surpassing beauty and permanence of our heavenly hope!
This is true:
Last week I found myself helping another nurse in a pill pass at a prison. Out of 900 prisoners the pill pass can last upwards of 3 1/2-4 hrs continuously. During this time, I stumbled and twisted my knee. A burning sensation came and went just like that. The other nurse saw me and I started to go down- caught myself and played it off.
During the next two hrs I was in excruciating pain but I wanted to push through it. Near the end- my knee gave out 2x and I started to pray the end of the line would come or Heavenly Father would take away the searing pain so I could complete the rest of the shift.
Soon after a Corrections officer came over the radio letting us know the facility was on lockdown. I thought I was going to let out a very Baptist- “Thank you, Lord Jesus!” But instead, I causally told my coworker - I prayed for relief and God answered my prayers by locking down the facility!
Miracles do happen— I experienced the hand of God in my life just last week! I know Heavenly Father is mindful of us, in all of our troubles!
God bless you for sharing your testimony to the ever watchful eye of our loving Father God...
Thanks! It was incredible!
