I feel like people who announce "we have evidence and we'll share it later" are just signaling to the Chinese guys with suitcases full of cash to show up and let them in on the grift train.

Because nothing ever comes of it. Folks talk big and then go quiet. The anecdotal evidence continues to pile up, but like small wildfires starting in the forest, the water bombs of money always show up to quench them.
