The Egyptians during Christ's time had something called:

"The Mare of Steel"...It was a scimitar curved upward and the condemned walked up steps to the top and then a rope was cut and the condemned tipped over and was CUT IN HALF ON THE WAY DOWN!!!!

And since Egypt was once a French Protectorate, I find it fitting!!!!
