Thalidomide is still being prescribed for certain cancers and skin conditions. "Brand names include Contergan, Thalomid, Talidex, Talizer, Neurosedyn, Distaval and many others."

Years ago my parents knew a doctor who said he never took any medications because he believed, to some extent, that ALL meds harm the kidneys and/or liver. I later knew of several pharmacologists (one very high level) who also refused to take any medications at all.
