The real frauds are those who limit the power of God with their words and discredit the work he continues to do through his children.
Your theory is a popular one but Mark 16:17 disproves it, as Jesus himself said that miracles will follow ALL THOSE who believe. Jesus was saying this to the disciples before he left and made sure to specify that he was not talking about them. At one point the disciples had corrected a random (unnamed) man that was healing and casting out demons in the name of Jesus because they knew the guy didn’t live his life alongside him like they did. Jesus corrected them for attempting to keep him from working miracles.
I could keep going, but I believe you should be able to get the point if you open your heart to the Holy Spirit’s leading. He will guide you to truth if you ask..but be sure to put aside any (human) idea of what the limitless power of God is able to accomplish.
The Bible is complete. There is no new revelation. 2 Pet 1:3-4 says, "as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
There seems to be a disconnect, as the verse you’ve quoted is not supporting scripture for your argument. The Bible is complete with the prophecy of Jesus being complete, but “no new revelation” is absolutely unbiblical in the context you’ve used it.
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”â€â€ John‬ â€14‬:â€12‬-â€13‬
“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.” â€â€John‬ â€16‬:â€13‬-â€15‬
I and many other Spirit-filled believers continue to see world-shattering miracles done through us by God, simply because we laid down our ideas of who he is and allow ourselves to be used as we step out in faith. I don’t say this at all to boast (if anything I boast of HIS authority), but to tell you as a brother that he is most definitely at work today.
Jesus said people would do miracles in His name but He didn't know them.
God is limited in the sense of He won't do things that go against His Word. Not limited in power or ability.
