St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle...
🧘Mental/Physical Health 🏋🏼♂️
Saint Michael, the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the Divine power of God, cast into hell Satan and all other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
St. Michael, place your Shield of Truth over the heart of this nation. By the power of God, design circumstances which will reveal the evil in every heart. Make our nation secure once again through sound leadership and justified enforcement of law. Amen.
Lord, may truth and righteousness be victorious.
I have yet to see any scriptural support. The whole point of salvation was that we could now go to God directly. God sacrificed his only son so that we could have salvation. The Bible tells me i can come to him in prayer. God says he will hear my prayers. There is nothing that you can't bring to God in prayer so why would you possibly take it anybody else? I can accept that this is maybe not blasphemy but at the very least this is disrespectful. God sacrificed his son so that you could come directly to him and not be dependent upon a priest.
When we pray to the Saints and Angels, it's not like pagan praying to our ancestors where we think they can grant things to us.
Think of it like this, let's say you ask a friend or relative to pray for you, nothing wrong with that right? We do the same with Saints and Angels. We speak to them as if they're right infront of us, because they are. (Hebrews 12:1) We ask them to pray to God for us, just as we ask our friends or relatives to pray for us. We do this because their prayers are powerful. (James 5:16)
I accept the idea of prayer requests for the living, however, none of those passages say anything about bringing our prayers to saints or angels.
