My whole point was the symbol predates all of this, and that it was co-opted by the extreme left of which the nazis were a part of.
You were originally saying that because it predates the nazis, it doesn't mean the same thing. Well, it doesn't mean "nazi" at that point, but it still associated (at that time) with socialist dimwits.
