Does anyone know what we will need to buy or have on hand to protect ourselves from this as I heard it will be the H5N1 bird flu. I know we are not to eat any chicken or turkey and to stock up on Vitamin D, but other than that, I haven't heard much of anything else.
Not anything related to poultry/birds. I know the man said to stock up on Vitamin D, but I can't remember what else he said to do. I told my husband the best thing I could think of was us to go to the Military Supply store and buy some gas masks and haz mat suits. Haha. Hey! It couldn't hurt. And I suppose I'd have to buy my own chickens and turkeys and keep them isolated in an enclosed environment if I want any eggs or bird for the holidays and eating.

Backyard chickens will be exposed just the same, they interact with other birds in nature and that's how it spreads.
To be safe, I'd avoid all eggs and poultry meat. Vit D and K are important.
The MOST important thing is to avoid all bird contact, most people will be putting netting over their back yards to keep bird poop out.
This sounds crazy. Like people who showered their groceries with a hose. All for nothing because it doesn’t spread without a host.
It sounds like we can't win for losing.
I suppose fish and seafood will be next.
That's when you lay in a supply of clean butt wiping leaves before winter sets in. Just make sure they're not poison oak, ivy or sumac. Kek
