The family of late actor Lance Reddick is disputing the report that heart disease caused his death, claiming that no autopsy had been performed and that Reddick had no signs of an existing condition.

Reddick was found dead at age 60 in his home on the morning of March 17. He was reported to have died of natural causes, with an update on April 6 stating that his immediate cause of death on his death certificate was Ischemic Heart Disease as well as Atherosclerotic Coronary Artery Disease. However, as reported by EW, a lawyer representing Reddick's family has come forward saying that this conclusion was not the result of an autopsy. "To my knowledge, no medical examination of Lance during his lifetime ever indicated such conditions," said James Hornstein, Reddick's attorney.

Hornstein went on to point out Reddick's good health, describing his frequent workouts and strict diet and calling him "the most physically fit person I've ever known."
