They may have done it with the GARDASIL HPV vaccine. My 30-year-old daughter was given a 3-dose vaccine (when she was in middle school with my permission) of this product under the recommendation of our Harvard-trained 'Top Doc in the U.S.' M.D. He said it would prevent the human papilloma virus from being able to infect her and cause her suffering if ever exposed. Having heard from two people I knew that had contracted this HPV disease and how it caused great suffering, I thought it would be prudent for her to be protected against it.
At the time, I asked the doctor if he could give it to my son (early teens) too. The doc said, "No. It's only approved for girls." I remember that giving me pause.
Now, in recent years (before COVID) I read that many girls who took that vaccine were unable to get pregnant. My daughter has not tried to get pregnant yet and uses birth control. I hope to God when she does, she doesn't find she is unable.
Definitely not defending Gardasil (it's horrible), but just to offer you a bit of hope on the fertility front....my sister and I were duped into Gardasil back in our 20's. Our mom had no idea that it was bad and encouraged us to get it; she believed the whole "vaccination against cervical cancer" campaign, and I wasn't awake and researching everything yet. Since then, I have been pregnant four times and have 3 absolutely beautiful children (I lost my 3rd baby 6 weeks into my pregnancy), and my sister has 2 beautiful children. I'm fairly certain it had negative consequences on us, but praise the Lord, our fertility wasn't impacted.
Oh thank you. I'm glad you both were not affected by this. I hope my daughter has the same luck!
