I was pointing out the evolution of the Navy "frogmen" of WW11. Many others as you mention were truly great warriors,

Understood. It was just a response to "the best of the best" comment. There's a code amongst the teams about being a "silent proffesional". Many Seals still honor this creed, but others definitely seek attention and monetary gain. I have mad respect for the old 8654 Marines. No one knew or heard of them until the movie "The Rock" MARSOC now is a different animal.
