I was considered “brave” and “crazy” for offering to work that shift. People were losing their minds. It was the first time I realized how gullible the general public was. I was the calm in the storm. I reminded them that air was not controlled by a computer and we would survive. It would be like “camping nursing.” Midnight -NOTHING- and people felt stupid. I’m ready for that feeling again. It was priceless.

Yes, it's going to obsolete a lot of old hardware as well as cause issues with many programs written before the 64 bit era.
John Titor is going to have to travel back in time in 2036 in order to obtain the IBM 5100 machine that will allow people in the future to translate all of the old software into workable code.
After all, manufacturing new devices is going to be impossible in the aftermath of World War III and the Russians going nuclear.
