My Grandma was born in 1917. Family of 3 kids at the time. They were all country people of Irish Cherokee heritage. Did a lot of raising their own food and very self-sufficient people. I'm sure that's how they survived it by staying within their boundaries and keeping to themselves. May they all rest in peace as their generation has long since gone.
You are absolutely right. Country people didnt get the flu for the most part. They didnt wear masks. Didnt even get 'news' or rumors about treatments.
Saw a documentary on WV country folk werent even affected by the Depression.
Thats the way to live.
Amen. Because if they had, my grandmother was only 1 year old and she would most likely have died from it. So I thank God for the many blessings he has given me.
