Anyone who commits criminal actions in elections or any government office must be banned for life to ever hold another government position. Also we need laws to make it easier to remove anyone from office if: 1) unable to fulfill their job fo a period of 30 consecutive days, 2) criminal behavior to acquire their position, 3) criminal activity proven while holding a government position, 4) negligent behavior while in office, such as not showing up for debates, voting, etc.

I see absolutely no difference between vote tampering, foreign invasion or armed insurrection; they all create exactly the same thing; a forced government change upon the population that nobody wanted. So, why should the penalty be less for the same crime?
