Not any more. I used to think of Libraries as repositories of important books. Well, I have bought some of those important books as discards at library book sales!

Instead of acquiring rare and important books, I see libraries now purchasing 30 or more copies of each title of current best sellers! to please their suburban members who could well afford to buy those books themselves. Esp Ophra Winfrey's book selections!

That is NOT the purpose of Libraries!
