Big businesses are incredibly, horribly inefficient. They waste like crazy. What's more, they can't even stand on their own. They're hopelessly dependant on artificially cheap loans, tax breaks, impenetrable red tape for smaller competitors, third world immigration to keep wages down, and other forms of government largesse. They are far more dependant on the government than they are on sales.
