Orwell, in "1984". I believe he thought he was writing a warning, but instead seems to have been writing an instruction manual.
Sorry. It was a warning for us, and instruction manual for the rats. We were just too sleepy and didn't catch it early.
TBH, I think we collectively underestimated how evil and stupid they would be.
I would not call them stupid but they are certainly evil.
