Nearly three years after the George Floyd incident, let's take a moment and assess the impact of the riots that followed. YouTuber Actual Justice Warrior created this video (17 min): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=igaNHN9UDWY&t=926s
Cliff notes:
- Pre riot and current photos of buildings/sites show extent of destruction to Minneapolis, almost indistinguishable from wartime photos
- Many cautioned that the riots would result in the environment that was allegedly created by systemic racism; that is, it didn't exist before but it did after the riots
- Martin Luther King (MLK) riots had the same impact on Detroit; Rodney King riots had the same impact on Los Angeles
- Cities impacted by riots suffer comparable property damage to natural disasters (eg hurricanes), but don't recover as quickly due to the immoral nature of the riots in which innocent people are targeted
- The theme of Marxist style tactics of forcibly destroying non black business with the express goal of creating black owned businesses was present in the 1992 LA riots, albeit unsuccessful
- Minneapolis is experiencing all time high homicide rates
- Trevor Noah gem: "What good does it do to loot Target? Well, how does it help you to NOT loot Target? Answer that question."
- The $2B property damage figure associated with BLM riots only represents insurance claims; 75% of businesses are under insured and 40% of businesses have no insurance at all; actual cost of BLM riots are more than $2B
- Crime is driving the poverty, not conservatives, police, white racists, white supremacy, etc. And who drove the crime? Democrat politicians and elites, BLM organization, MSM, "comedians", etc.
One point he missed was the $2 Billion in damage was just the first 2 weeks of riots. These riots went on forever all over the country and had to be well over $100 Billion in damage.
This line from Wiki shows it:
However, arson, vandalism, and looting that occurred between May 26 and June 8 caused approximately $1–2 billion in damages nationally, the highest recorded damage
