I don't particularly take a side in the dispute between them as such. It is a product of centuries old processes that are difficult to understand by an outsider. Similar to the Balkans or Northern Ireland. But my point really is that it is far less to do with Nazism than local hatreds. Russia's neighbors usually hate them. Nazis that hate their own governments but are further away from Russia can sometimes even kinda like Putin. Which is to say this is a lot more complicated than the usual canned denunciation of 'Nazis'. All I'm saying really.
The point I am making is it is reasonable to point out the severe hypocrisy of left-wingers in this country for 'Standing with Ukraine' which is in fact...full of neo-nazis when they try to vilify regular Americans as nazis.
That's a reasonable point. One I'd happily freely make myself. More than that: it is a US state interest to crush Russia so as to better smash any potential foreign support for dissent in this country - so the US government supports anything from neo-Nazis to Islamic terrorists provided they hate Russia.
Beyond the hypocrisy there is a cynicism based on power and interests. Which is just how the world works. I think the US is the evil empire. So I'm not above cultivating similar cases of strange bedfellows myself.
