John Adams wrote that “Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious People. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” He could have easily written “for a moral and reasoning” people. Or “for a moral and forward-thinking” people. But he didn’t. He knew the whole experiment rested on God. It still does.

I concede the point and state again this is why I there are no political solutions to our problems in the formerly United State of America.
Found an old newspaper clipping from my Grandmother. Mahatma Gandhi’s list of the seven deadly sins: Wealth without work. Pleasure without conscience. Knowledge without character. Commerce without morality. Science without humanity. Worship without sacrifice. Politics without principle. Thought this was appropriate for our current times.
