Why is the US in a drug shortage emergency?

The shortage is preventing cancer patients from getting the treatment they need

Drug shortages will actually save your life. Are you kidding me. Those who get cancer and use the chemo drugs have a 97% chance of dying, if not from the original cancer from the huge cancer the drug causes. Those who get cancer and do not take these drugs have a 97% chance of living and only 3% die of the cancer. This has been pretty much common knowledge for quite some time.
