There are things that are known and things that are unknown. The innocent don't know what is being hidden or who is hiding it but most of us have faith that at some point it will be discovered. On the other hand, the guilty know what is being hidden and who is involved but they don't know when and how they will be exposed. A guilty person's fear of being discovered is a much greater burden than the frustration about the delay experienced by the innocent. There will be a day of reckoning.
