Their personality the past 7 years has been defined by hating him. Some have come around in that time by actually looking at him themselves, others are too afraid to invalidate their flimsy, thin personality. When it has all been exposed as lies, those that do not come around and face their shallow self-images will be driven mad (not that they aren't currently, they can just be docile with the power-that-shouldn't-be patting them on the head everytime they turn on their television) when they still refuse to see reality and there is no mechanism to abuse them for that any more.
