Secure Safe. Gimme a break mods. General Chat takes forever to get an answer!
Needs an answer, STAT!
Pedes, I need to buy a safe that has to be secured in concrete or something similar. Don’t need a real big one, so not a gun safe. A few pounds of “retirement” will be going into it. I’ll need to have it installed. I’m in the southeast. Can you guide me?
Possibly buy a safe, weld (or hire a welder) to put some rebar on it bent into varying directions (even a grid) a 1-3" away from the edges. Pour concrete around all the edges & let it cure.
That said, I am not certain of anyone in that area that does this type of thing. Like below should help you figure out what direction you want to go.
This guy suggests using concrete epoxy with a threaded rod (clean out all the dust really well first) https://youtu.be/1R-0UKLXnJ4
One guy hides his safe under the floor in a creative way. https://youtu.be/Cd0Bkju0eWs
This Locksmith tells us that an in ground safe is susceptible to destroying your foundation (home age dependent) or flooding, so if you are going the in found route, protect stuff with water proof bags in the safe. Also a few options to conceal/hide your safe here too https://youtu.be/AfWeVXzfkk8
I suppose people who have watched youtube videos about safes and hiding things, have eyeballs on them though.
Ultimately you just need to find ways to get creative. A false wall would be a great start. In my old home, I had multiple neighbors amazed at how much food I had stored (grains & beans in buckets) behind a few decorative panels that they assumed were just covering plumbing.
The biggest key is, "Out of sight, out of mind"
