Your humility will bring you great blessings, fren. Regarding the confusion of languages, that was a curse from God upon mankind as punishment for trying to elevate themselves to God's position. It was never God's original will. In fact, Christ allowed Himself to be cursed by hanging on a tree in order to free us from every course upon us.
Revelation 22:

"1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. 3And there shall be no more curse."

The gift of tongues at Pentecost and thereafter was a sign of the breaking of that curse and the future reunification of man under the Lordship of Christ. God did not intend for mankind to be divided any more than He intended man to die. These were consequences of sin, which of course, were never part of God's original design for Earth.

I don't know if you have ever had the privilege of worshiping Christ with believers from other cultures, but it's beautiful. The problem with multiculturalism is that it brings with it clashing values and beliefs. I have more in common with a Christian of any color, nation, or tongue than my own flesh and blood parents and sister who are not believers.
