So all of this seems to imply that whatever the threat/risk for which they are preparing does not impact satellites so no space war? Without ASAT, all space based intel and communications remains intact.

I'm so tired of seeing comms everywhere. With all the CoRNey crap I read that as "hardened CORN satellites". It's second nature now.
