"Hopefully"? That is not faith.
Do you think the Q team was scrambling for solutions while hoping?
Or were they simply playing their parts, like we all are, as gracefully arranged by God?
I never implied a lack of action, or a lack of awareness. But when you understand the mechanics of faith, you can make things much easier for yourself. Belief is a choice. Learn to flex your beliefs like a muscle. Your beliefs will directly inform your emotions, which will directly affect your thoughts, which will affect your actions. Yes use your mental abilities, but most people force the mind to do more jobs than it was intended for. Using belief and faith properly allows the mind to do its job and much more effectively dictate your actions. Through the Grace of God, instead of your own mental capacities alone.
Alright, well i mean to say "if its Gods will". Not "hopefully". its just an example but you really want to distract from the point don't you? and I'm glad that you've stopped playing coy to a degree but you don't want to give me a straight answer. you always digress into how there is some mystical subtlety that I'm not grasping (which isn't true) instead of actually answering the question. I agree with everything you just said completely but do you really get my point?
There is a common thread here that i've been trying to address from the beginning.
i'm talking about anti intellectual or lazy Christians who answer to any question that is an opportunity to build critical thinking skills with just: "Trust God it will be fine" is not healthy for this site. And I'm not talking about when someone needs encouragement because they are burnt out or just need a reminder. Its just that I see it constantly being used as a major crutch by them to stifle any real analysis and explanation of a situation.
there are no mystical subtleties beyond your grasp? oh wow.
personally I think you should consider the message instead of dismissing them as anti-intellectual. not all situations require analysis, and certainly not by everybody. true faith has reproducible results! but you'll only see those results in others after you apply it to yourself first. If you believe those anti-intellectual Christians are not playing their roles properly, then that is the effect you will experience. God works in many ways, and if you specify what way you want God to work in, you are disallowing other, more graceful opportunities.
i can get more specific about this stuff. sorry for being short with you. happy to answer whatever, otherwise i'll try to put together a more full explanation sometime soon.
Again, You really don't know me and you make lots of assumptions about me while continuing to ignore what I say and not answer me or stay on topic. You literally just ignore my questions and imply that you know some something that i don't while at the some time not explaining it. That's rude and not very christian of you....sorry to say. I never said I understand everything that's absurd. All i said and am trying to say is that we are equals spiritually. Which is more than fair and much better that what you are trying to say about me. You don't know anything about who I am or what I do and if you did i can guarantee you that you wouldn't be saying what you keep saying to me. But again, you still don't want to talk about the topic you want to ironically try and paint me in a corner and not talk about the issue. Maybe I'm just forcing you to think and you don't like to do that....well if that's the case then this isn't the place for you. Sorry anon.
Jeez. I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings or missed any of your questions. I've been trying to make my position as clear as possible and give the most relevant answers I can. I am sure we both have knowledge that the other does not possess, and I haven't yet had the time to share all of mine. All I have said about you is that you place a lot of importance on the physical and mental, but it seems to me like you underestimate belief, which is more fundamental. You're welcome to disagree, but all I have called for is a balance between faith and awareness, and you felt the need to play 'devil's advocate' over that.
Yes I absolutely can explain and discuss further and answer questions. I'm not trying to withhold or avoid, I just don't have infinite time patience and effort to put into commenting. ask whatever, or i'll just reread the thread and look for questions I missed. after I go shopping and eat dinner.
