Yes. We are. My husband was in the military...a veteran. But he was one of 'those guys'. Ran missions that nobody was supposed to know about in regions nobody wants to visit, following orders from 'somebody'....until he and his team discovered these 'somebodies' were painting targets on things that involved the most vulnerable of people. His team walked away. Refused. None of them will ever see benefits, most of them are now dead of mysterious circumstances. Every year when veterans day rolled around and the kids were still in school, they'd ask him why he wouldn't stand up to be honored among the other vets. He told them he would never ever want to be honored for what 'they' expected his team to accomplished, that they and most others have been lied to and coerced into serving our country when it was really just to serve some politician's wishes. Despite this, he honored others who served, because most including himself went in thinking they were doing the right thing for the PEOPLE of our country. When they use human beings to do the most inhumane of things to other human beings, the humanity is lost. God bless the purpose of those who went in with their hearts on their sleeves. And may the Lord deal with those who have perpetuated so many lies on SO MANY.
God bless you for your thoughtful, well stated reply.
I know this doesn't mean a great deal, but thank you, your husband and family for the sacrifices that you have endured.
God sees and remembers.
Indeed I do appreciate that. It's been an act of endurance for him all these decades since. These days he suffers dementia from several strokes and part of me prays that the atrocities are gone from his mind. May the Lord care tenderly with a person like this....bigger heart I have never seen on a human being. God bless you.
