I worked in post production sound, and we were laying back a Japanese language version of this series. As if it wasn’t weird enough in English. I didn’t understand the dialogue but noted the laugh track was not even closely related to the English laugh track. I assumed they’d utterly rewritten the script in some pervy way. I asked the Japanese guy supervising the sessions about it, but he just scowled angrily at me. Like Japanese being pervy is a secret or something. I was invited to immediately leave the control room. They did the same thing to Rin Tin Tin. Kinda creepy, but who knows. Maybe I’m just too suspicious. I just fixed the machines. Not my place to attack the client and destroy the hard drives.
