I live 35 miles from DC and it shook the ground beneath our feet. I have seen and felt several sonic booms in the past during my Navy time. This was different and I don’t care what they say.

But wouldn't imploding tunnels then create open craters or depressions 'topside'? How does this work, exactly. Seems like they would 'seal' tunnels instead of collapse them.

I have absolutely no idea what happened but man that was loud. It shook the earth for at least a 70 mile radius.
