No. Too young for Social Security and spent all my 401k in 2009 to pay off my home mortgage when the banking system took my job along with many other people's. Now, my son and his wife pay me cash. However, my husband pays all the bills and he has a bank account.
Cash is king right now also. You and I were in the same place at 2008.
I'm sorry to hear that. You'd think after many years of loyalty they would keep you; but I was coming upon another week's paid vacation and a raise in my hourly pay. It was easier to hire a 'temp' making less money than a loyal employee. But that's okay, it was killing my body with all those 6 day 12 hour shifts.
It's ok. I found other work and I love the work. I didn't have to go work in crazy Portland. It's a lot less stress.
Yep, I have to do temp and contractor for a while.
I went to college. Got an associates degree. Became a secretary for the company I did my Internship for. However it only paid $9 an hour and the insurance had a $6000 deductible. Wasn't worth the paper it was written on. The only thing the degree/college did for me was I was 'totally' computer illiterate. Didn't know how to turn one on. Now look at me. That's about it. My husband told me with that job I may as well stay home; so now I babysit so I can have a bit of my own spending money without having to ask him for it. Kek. Gotta go. Time to go see the kids. Have a great day.
