I would watch the Andy Griffith show. One day I realized that even back then, there was predictive programing going on. Almost nobody on that show was a family, or even married. The few that were, were the tales of caution. For example the people not married: Andy, Barney, Aunt Bea, her best friend Clara, of course Thelma Lou and Helen, Floyd the barber, Goober, Gomer, the Barney replacement, Howard Sprague, Howard Sprague's mother, the Darlings, all of them. The married were the town drunk Otis, some obnoxious visiting relatives, and the mayor. The only good married character was Emmet the handyman.
