What's your thoughts about Juneteenth?

Banks and post offices are closed. Legit holiday or what? Biden gave the deep state workers another freebie at our expense. Seems to me we have too many federal holidays already. I keep hoping that part of Trump's agenda will be to drastically cut the size and scope of government. Personally I think that first cut should be 50% and then chip away from there until it's about 25% of what we currently have. Then maybe our taxes can go down in an effort to free the rest of us slaves who pay taxes and foot the bills for outrageous expenditures like $billions to Ukraine and pallets of cash to Iran.
Last night there were some fireworks near me in Tampa. I guess firecrackers. Woo! I like the quote from Lt Col Allen West below in this thread. Here’s a screen cap of it to give to your bleeding heart ppl.

It is a BS day that will soon have decorations and other commercialized crap. What do you think the food will be for this special day? Fried chicken, greens and watermelon? Purple drink? And if you ask anyone celebrating this important day, they probably could not tell you specifically. Just like if you ask many “African Americans” where they came from in Africa, they couldn’t say. They couldn’t say where their ancestors were from or who in their family were actually slaves. At what point will they say they forgive and want to move on? At what point will they look at the real history of enslavement in AFRICA and who used to be responsible for that? If you’re gonna claim a freaking American holiday, at least act like you don’t hate this country and the people in it who aren’t your color. I’m not saying all act like this, but many do. And then there is the left’s pandering. They’re responsible for the division in our country. It’s like they’re still using the blacks for their own benefit. Wait.. that sounds like slavery. Whoops.
I have Irish immigrant great grandparents on one side who used to talk about with family how badly the Irish were treated in our country and Canada and actually used to see signs up like “Irish need not apply.” We’ve heard the stories. The derogatory names, terrible wages, conditions and discrimination that lasted well into WW2. They went out and worked harder. They were the first American slaves nobody talks about. Or how about a national holiday for the Native Americans who were shat on harder than anyone. If it were that sort of holiday, I could get on board.
Could have just been a black on black murder. That's apparently a valid means of celebrating Juneteenth.
