I didn’t know EXECUTIVE FUNCTION so I looked it up
Executive function is a set of mental skills that enable us to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully. It includes working memory, flexible thinking, and self-control. The brain needs this skill set to filter distractions, prioritize tasks, set and achieve goals, and control impulses. These skills are thought to originate in the brain's prefrontal cortex. Trouble with executive function can make it hard to focus, follow directions, and handle emotions, among other things.
That is is why we persist.
