Everything is to protect Obama. Biden will be sacrificed at the last moment by the Democrats so they can say, "Look at us, we are the party of the rule of law." Then they will stick Newsome (or a reasonable facsimile) in as the candidate so he will not have to expose his agenda to the public before election day.
