And without Russian resupplies they would be wiped out in days. Could be they were baiting NATO to make a move.

They made a move on Russia's main resupply point for southern Eukraine

Rostov-on-Don has an airfield and other crucial military installations

Seems like a good bargaining chip.

And Wagner didn't attack Putin, they attacked the generals who are not popular in Russia.
