Indeed. Todd Bridges has stated that the Differ'nt Stokes were having themselves a good laugh at the "very special episode" involving the bicycle man and were directly mirroring many things the crew were up to on the set. You will notice at the end that Gary Coleman escapes the Bicycle Guy, but left his friend Wesley there with him. They thought this was hilarious.
