... Why the push for this stuff, especially when, as noted before, people don’t really want it? We’ve already discussed the way in which driving conventional farmers and ranchers out of business will consolidate the food supply into the hands of a few very powerful players. And while I think those points are as valid as ever, there are a few other things I’d like to consider here.
It's going to start with fast food restaurants, then at some point "the big reveal" will be that they've been serving it for some time. Sadly, most people will just accept the fact and move on.

But I think a handwritten letter to your legislators (all levels of government) is more effective than a petition. It needn't be long; they'll just be classifying it into "yea" and "nay" categories. But something spontaneous and HANDWRITTEN shows more feeling behind it than a petition or printed form letter.
