I believe Macron let the riots get out of control to do just that: shut down Internet and lock down the people. He's a Klaus Slob acolyte after all.

It would make sense to shut down the riots with the Army and arrest them all, but no let's use it for an excuse to implement totalitarian measures on law abiding citizens.
