So this week Twitter restricts the number of views, Reddit restricted the use of APIs to access its content (ie Apollo shuts down), probably there are some other examples. This seems counterintuitive for platforms where you’d think they’d want as many users and views as possible.
These places are where a lot of alternate information seeps through to normies. Is this some sort of throttling in preparation for a future event(s)? IDK
i have the opposite perspective. reddit is a cesspool, and we are seeing its collapse. at the same time, twitter certainly seems to be preparing for something, but it looks like that may be more about crippling the censorship industry's main source of data.
all of this limits their ability to censor and fact check us. twitter is restricted for now, but i think this is preparation for the flood gates to open
I think it’s being collapsed on purpose though. If they wanted to prevent collapse they would encourage external use of APIs not restrict the. Reddit is a cesspool, but it is a channel where some alternate information seeps into mainstream; that’s why TDW and GA were kicked off of reddit to begin with.
Things have changed now, I see a lot of alternate views coming through reddit. Now that they can’t outright censor they are going to restrict the channels outright
of course its an intentional collapse. what do you think 'patriots in control' means?
What do you mean by collapse? Twitter is doing way better than before as conservatives are back and not being censored for their views. We need social media to bypass the fake news. Nobody should be rooting for todays Twitter collapse based on the way they felt about Twitter before.
yeah nobody's saying that. we're talking about the collapse of reddit. twitter will be fine
