One individual or group that seeks to impose their will on another is diminishing that person's freedom. Indeed all people's.

I don't have the freedom to decide for myself... What to say, what to wear, what to drive and on and on...

Manipulators make trouble where there is none.

Because they have their reasons, which must be so much more important than anyone else's.

"I'm doing this to save you from the bad things, so I should do whatever it takes , even when it hurts others."

Tell them this when you see it, it happens all the time, big and small, in the world at large and in our own families.

Use this dumbass argument anytime you must deal with such treachery.

Rule number one, avoid details and stay out of the weeds.
