I’m probably about to lose my insurance, or change drastically, due to children grown up married/jobs/etc. I had hyperthyroidism, also known as Graves’ disease, about 8 yrs ago. Lost a bunch of weight quickly, was basically dying. Eventually doc fixed me up. But here soon I may be paying out of pocket for what meds I’m currently on. I haven’t brought this up with the doc, and I’ve been smooth sailing since I got regulated those years ago. But does anyone use something off of the shelf perhaps? Something tried and true? I’m currently on 125mcg Levothyroxine sodium.
Just doing some research before I possible get the shaft. They also had me on some blood pressure meds, but I’ve been using that CoQ10 and it seems to have lowered my BP even more. So I wonder if that alone would take care of the blood pressure stuff.
Synthroid is the original trade name. Levothyroxine is the generic name, and there are several companies that market the generic under different names. Desiccated Armour thyroid is another medication for hypothyroid, a bit different than the levothyroxine. https://www.goodrx.com/conditions/hypothyroidism/armour-thyroid-vs-levothyroxine
