2:30 "Because for the work of Christ he was nigh unto death, not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service toward me." - Christ was willing to sacrifice his life as repentance for the collective sins/debt/crimes of humanity.

2:3 "Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves." - Most if not all of the powers of this world (presently the domain of Satan) are very prideful and have huge egos, and they really only care about personal enrichment and aggrandizement versus actually serving God and the highest good.

2:4 "Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others." - Be generous with what you have, because no matter how bad things are for you (and believe me, God knows how bad things are), Jesus' testimony on the cross proves that if you hold true to God, if your foundation is strong, you can weather the harshest of storms. (Biblical verse about building your house on a firm rock/foundation?)

We are all made in the image of God, that means if one of us is suffering, we are all suffering.

2:6 -7 "Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:" Jesus' argument to God is that if he, like all of creation, is made in the image of God, then he should be able to wield the very power of God (to heal, walk on water, etc - perform 'miracles'). If one being were able to wield such power, that would effectively make that being ruler / progenitor of creation.

Jesus wants that power, not to rule or 'Lord over' anyone, but to maintain what you could call the 'universal Republic' under a natural law, aka the laws of God, aka true and full freedom. Satan wants this power to establish a dictatorship over all of creation, like a universal Hitler.

2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." Jesus was willing to sacrifice not only his physical existence, but his entire existence as a being, in order that creation may be liberated. One way to think of this is how Gandalf the Grey, after dying int service of fighting evil, was resurrected as Gandalf the White. Jesus did in fact sacrifice his entire existence, in beyond words excruciatingly painful fashion, on the cross. He did, though, promise to return at a later time, as ordained by God.

2:9-11 "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father" - Because Jesus was willing to sacrifice his existence in horrifyingly brutal fashion, to atone for the sins of humanity (who according to Genesis have been given domain on planet Earth), Jesus will literally be made the highest authority in the universe. He is entrusted with this power because he has demonstrated his commitment through his sacrifice to serve the Living God, and that he can be trusted not to use that power as Satan has used it, for malicious intent and personal aggrandizement rather than prioritizing the good of all.

2:14-16 "Do all things..That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world. Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain." Do whatever you can to build a better, freer, more caring world. If all you have the time or energy for is to give a homeless person 50 cents, do that. Also, so long as you have an independent will, you have the ability to pray; make use of it - I found that speaking prayers out loud and saying prayers in nature seems to help the impact, but wherever you are, remember to always humble yourself and pray.

God, shine your light on the beloved members of this community, and on all of humanity, who may sin, but who, in large part wish to serve your will. Serve as a guiding light for these souls that are seeking your counsel at this time of utmost need. Amen.
