From the article:
Rajendra Pachauri, who was then the chairman of the UN's IPCC, had close connections with the people behind the Indian TATA company. Pachauri was also the chairman of TERI which was originally called the TATA Energy Research institute.
Entirely coincidentally, the scientist who predicted that the Himalayas were going to melt landed a good job with TATA shortly afterwards.
All the IPCC assessment reports have been a con. They put together the main document using hand-picked scientists who use it to promote their own papers and, of course, they all toe the line regarding the narrative.
After that report has been compiled they make a Summary for Policy Makers report from it. That is done by politicians rather than scientists and that paper is debriefed to the media several days before the main report comes out. That enables the media to present the "right" headlines before any of the details can be checked in the main report.
Plus 1 for “toe the line”. Plus plus for brief, concise and to the point. Very well written.
Thank you, I do try! However, I tend to write the same way that I speak so not always good.
