As a kid hearing about the Bob Crane murder i just assumed he was jilting a friend or something and thats why it went bad.
Now i wonder if he wasnt a bigger Hollywood blackmail provider who got whacked bc of what he knew/saw.

I remember. It was hinted that he had some perverted interests or associates. I figured at the time that he had become troublesome or talking too much.
He enjoyed making stag films of group sex of popular actresses and etc. Allegedly consensual adult stuff but looking back who knows?
He was a huge video buff and had heavy investments in all the newest cameras and etc back way before that was common or affordable for most people.
He died by being beaten over the head with one of his tripods iirc.
He was iirc going to try to get out of it or something and supposedly his friend John Carpenter was a suspect bc he wasn't attractive and couldn't pull the pretty girls like Crane did. Again, who knows? That's just what they sold us
