1 and 2 should always be done. As to 3, there are survivor stories out there, but the problem I see is that a lot of abuse survivors don't want to talk about it or be exposed. They are ashamed already, and they know what happens to people who are publicized. Some of the ones telling their stories might also be making things up for narcissistic reasons. So how tell more about them without exposing the innocent to more harm, and the narcissists to unmerited attention?
