Reading these comments, I am very happy to say that the AMC I went to to see SOF didn't pull any of those stunts. Lights went off when they were supposed to go off, ac was perfect. However, there did seem to be an hour of previews. I went to the 8:20 pm showing on Friday July 7, and the theater was full and there were a lot of families there - parents with teens - no young children. Approx 80% stayed to watch Jim Caviezel's message after the movie. I was down in front and I noticed a couple of LE and theater employees standing in the entrance hall watching the movie. As a movie experience, it was an enjoyable one.
I remember going to the movies as a teenager and in my 20s and excited to see previews but there would only be a few. I have only seen a couple of movies in theaters over the last couple of years but the previews seem to be almost half an hour now.
I saw SoF at a matinee that said the showtime started at 12:10. I got there at noon, sat down and didn't get out until 3pm. I remember thinking I must be seeing every upcoming Angel Studios film.
Ahhh ok - I haven't been to the theater in years - my late husband didn't like going to the theater. Lol
I've been seeing several movies this year with my children, and I can tell you that the hour (really more like 30 minutes) of previews is the norm now.
